Apprenticeship projects

Join real incubated builds, work mentor-assigned tasks, and ship as an apprentice.

  • Real incubated projects — not toy exercises — with a room, a team and a mentor
  • Mentor-assigned tasks with a visible board: todo, doing, review, done
  • Replicable projects can be cloned straight into your own portfolio pipeline

Real builds, real rooms

The Projects page is the apprenticeship hub: real incubated projects that take on learners as apprentices. Each card shows the project's title, domain, brief, tech stack and status — and whether it's replicable. Projects marked open are recruiting; tap Join as apprentice and you're in, with access to the project room.

Your active rooms sit at the top under Your project rooms, so ongoing work is always one tap away.

Working the task board

Inside a room, your mentor assigns you tasks — each with a title and a brief. They land on your task board with four statuses:

  • todo — assigned, not started
  • doing — you're on it
  • review — done on your side, waiting for mentor review
  • done — reviewed and accepted

You move your own tasks across the board as you work. Keep it honest: the board is how your mentor sees where you are without asking, and review is where feedback happens — the same loop you'll live in on a real team. If your board is empty, your mentor hasn't assigned work yet; say so in the room rather than waiting silently.

Replicating a project

Some projects carry a replicable badge. That's an invitation: tap Replicate this project → your portfolio and a clone is added to your own capstone pipeline. Rebuild it your way — different stack, different trade-offs, your architecture — then take it through mentor review like any capstone. It's a proven path from "contributed to a build" to "shipped my own."

Why apprenticeship matters

Solo practice builds skill; apprenticeship builds judgment under constraints — scope you didn't choose, code you didn't write, a reviewer you must convince. That's the experience employers actually mean when they say experience. Join early, ship small, ship often.

Frequently asked

What are apprenticeship projects?

Real incubated builds you can join as an apprentice. Each has a brief, a domain, a tech stack and a project room where a mentor assigns and reviews work — it's the closest thing to a job before the job.

How do I get tasks?

Your mentor assigns them inside the project room. Each task has a title, a brief and a status; if your board is empty, your mentor hasn't assigned work yet — ask in the room.

What do the task statuses mean?

Todo (not started), doing (in progress), review (waiting on mentor review) and done. You move your own tasks across the board as you work, so status always reflects reality.

What does the 'replicable' badge mean?

That project can be cloned into your own portfolio pipeline. Tap 'Replicate this project → your portfolio' and a copy lands in your capstone flow — rebuild it your way and get it reviewed as your own work.
