The mentor console

Where a mentor sees the learners they are responsible for, and the work waiting on them.

  • A mentor sees exactly the learners assigned to them — not everyone in the organization
  • Work arrives in one queue with a deadline, rather than scattered across five screens
  • Every assignment is recorded, so it is always answerable who was responsible and when

The mentor console is where a mentor starts their day.

What it shows

Your caseload — the learners assigned to you — and the work waiting on you. Nothing else. A mentor in your organization who is not assigned to a learner sees nothing about that learner, and that boundary is enforced by the database, not by hiding a link.

How someone becomes your learner

An owner, admin or enablement manager assigns them, either one at a time or by giving you a whole cohort. A cohort grant can be withdrawn as a set later without disturbing anyone you were assigned directly.

What is not here yet

This screen is the shell. The caseload list, the learner view and the review queue land next, and it says so rather than showing an empty list it never measured.

Frequently asked

Who can open the mentor console?

Owners, admins, enablement managers, managers and mentors. It sits behind the Learning & Progress module, because a caseload is a view over the learning plane — if that module is switched off there is no roster to mentor from.

Why can a mentor see some learners and not others?

Because reach follows assignment. A mentor reads a learner's reflections, submissions and notes only where an active assignment connects them. A mentor in the same organization with no assignment to that learner sees nothing about them at all, and that is enforced in the database rather than in the screen.

Does a mentor see what a learner types into the AI tutor?

No. Tutor conversations are never visible to a mentor by default. A learner may share one exchange deliberately when they ask for help, and may withdraw it. The promise on the assistant is coach, not cop, and a mentor console that quietly read tutor history would break it.

Is there a limit on how many learners one mentor can hold?

Yes. Each organization has a caseload cap, 25 by default, and an assignment that would exceed it is refused with the cap named. An organization can raise or remove it.

What happens when a mentoring relationship ends?

It is marked ended rather than deleted, and reach stops immediately. The record of who was responsible during which period is kept on purpose — that history is the point of tracking assignments at all.
